I just got home tonight from my sister's graduation. It was so fun to see where she and her husband have been living for the past two years and get to walk through the architecture building and look at her (extremely impressive) projects. We had an amazing dinner here with the fam to celebrate Linds and everything she has accomplished. Some of the things on the menu (i.e bacon foam) reminds me of a creation from Top Chef, it was an amazing meal, definitely on my top 10 so far in life (maybe even top 5).

I love the idea this designer had to make polaroid's into scarves! So unique and beautiful.

I have never been one to wear heels. I so want to be able to be girly and wear fun heels, they just are not comfortable. Well I have found the solution... this shoe designer Coclico has beautiful vegetable dyed leather hand made in Spain AND they are comfortable. How lovely is that?

We had a early Mother's Day brunch this morning in South Carolina and ate at the cutest southern bakery. Look at that homemade french toast that is a serious slice of bread!

Pretty much the coolest thing you can buy for the summer time. This modern picnic basket contains different compartment to store your food and utensils. And it is so colorful and fun. I love it!

South Carolina.

I am here in South Carolina with my mom and dad to visit my sister and brother-in-law! I have not been here in the two years that they have lived here while my sister has been going through grad school for health care architecture. And she has made it through (with flying colors might I add) and my fam is all gathering to celebrate and watch her walk across the stage! I could not be more excited to be here with them (it has been since Christmas) and also could not be more proud of my sister. Check out an article about her accomplishments here.

Basically, she is the bomb (I had to bring out late 90's slang just to describe how cool she is). Here is a photo of her final project and also a photo of her accepting one of her MANY awards.

We went on an afternoon walk with this guy. It was lovely after being in a plane for 5 hours!

Stone is more of a serious reader than I am : )

Donald Miller, who is most famous for Blue Like Jazz, also wrote Searching for God Knows What and Through Painted Deserts. Stone likes this writer because he is relatable and not a cheesy Christian author. He writes for every man.

Stone's all time favorite author as of late is Malcolm Gladwell. He is humorous and witty. Whenever Stone is reading one of his books he always has interesting tidbits and short stories to tell me, so I suppose him reading these books is enjoyable for me too!

The Shack is a pretty intense book from what I have heard, but a good one, and the story line is captivating so I know Stone finished it in two days tops.

Beach Music is my husband's absolute favorite book, (I have yet to read it) and I think it is because the book cover is not appealing to me and I always judge books by the cover : )

Lastly, I gave Stone a subscription to Dwell magazine for Christmas and he loves, loves these issues. They are so decorative too! We will always keep them to decorate shelves and what not... even the spines are colorful and fun.

On HER bedside table.

Stone and I are both creating quite the stack of books on each of our bedside tables, last night I decided to go through everything we were in the "process" of reading and this is what was on my bedside table.

Listography for starters was a really fun book that we took on our honeymoon, it is just random lists and most of the questions were things Stone and I did not know about each other yet like 'List your favorite grade school teachers and why'.

Then I also have a couple vintage cover (from Anthropologie) Jane Austen books as well, that Stone got me for Valentine's day. And well, with any Jane Austen book it is going to take me a while to get through those.

Embarrassing to admit, but I really, really like the Shopaholic book series. I have only read two and am just starting this one, so I am hoping it is still just as good!

Truthfully, The Secret Life of Bees has been sitting by my bed for a good while now. I only have a couple chapters to finish I just have not yet. Maybe it is because I saw the movie and so I already know what happens and part of it is sad?

Lastly, The Sartorialist (Thanks KATY!) book is always a good one to flip through. I never get tired of looking at the fun and beautiful outfits.

How was your weekend?

We spent the weekend recovering from the two weddings we photographed last week (Thursday and Friday). Stone, of course got straight to editing, and just to make the process more fun for him we bought one of these on Saturday and we are loving it. We also had date night at Larkburger with Caitlin and Cody on Saturday, which was so fun, we love hanging with those two. And then we went to Larkburger again on Sunday to celebrate my birthday and Mother's Day before we leave for our trip (oops, that is a double-header at Larkburger AND we had the same girl check us out both times, maybe a little embarrassing!).

All in all it was a pretty great weekend...
