You may or may not have seen this on the news... but for the last 3 days there has been a massive forest fire in Boulder that started when a car ran into a propane tank. It was so weird driving into Boulder this morning you could not even see the mountains because they were covered in smoke and it smelled as if you were sitting right next to a campfire, so bad that my eyes were watering before they became accustomed to the air. Anyway, it is a really tragic situation, as of now 135 families homes have been burned to the ground and the firefighters do not believe that they will have the fire contained for another 10 days time.
On a bright note, the town has been incredible in an effort to help all of the families who have been displaced. Almost every restaurant I know is offering free meals and so many people, churches and businesses are doing everything they can in the way of gathering clothes and providing shelter for people who need it.
You can read more about the 'Fourmile Fire' (the name was coined because it is in an area of North Boulder called Fourmile Canyon) here. You can also be praying for a quick containment of the fire so others do not lose their home as well and safety for the firemen who have been working around the clock.
