Gift Guide : Love.

Yup. It's that time of the year again. Truly, I think the holiday is a little silly, but it is a great excuse to get flowers, eat chocolate, and go on a hot date so I can't be too cynical. Stone and I usually have a chocolate heavy brunch at home, grab dinner at one of our favorite spots, and then head to the movie theater. Is that lame? Probably, but I used to be one of those girls that expected the world on a silver platter for Valentine's Day and those expectations usually left me upset and dear husband (boyfriend at the time) defeated. So, simple is best for us. I would not complain about some pretty flowers though (hint, hint). Do you like to celebrate Valentine's? If you are like us, then here is the recipe for a lovely, simply perfect day...

1 : Handmade LOVE gifts or cards. These are so sweet I thought, perhaps something I could try and make myself one day.

2 : Some love poems, songs, stories, letters... all of the above work. Shakespeare perfected it, but you could give it a shot too!

3 : Heart shaped pancakes... preferably with chocolate chips!

4 : Fresh flowers... I don't know any girl who would not want a sweet bouquet especially if it is sent to work so others can ooo and ahhh :)

5 : Chocolate. Of course.

Gift Guide : A Kate Spade Christmas.

This morning I woke up to one of my favorite emails to receive... the Kate Spade Holiday Gift Guide! I am not usually one to shop at Kate Spade year round, but when their gift guide rolls out I just cannot resist. They have the most perfect stocking stuffers, just send your loved one the link and you are bound to get something great on the 25th! Stone and I usually only get things for each others stockings (all surprises) and then beyond that maybe one bigger item that each of us has been wanting (not a surprise). So, I decided to get a jump start on all of my stocking surprises this year and make a little collage of some of my favorite things from Ms. Spade! Love them all :)

Go here to start creating your Christmas wish list! xo.

Gift Guide : Celebrating dad.

Good morning!

Lets get one thing straight here, men, in general are the hardest to shop for. They are the type that if they want something bad enough then they will get it for themselves. Also, you rarely hear a man walking around dropping hints or saying the phrases 'i want' and 'i need' while looking at online stores.

We women are the opposite.

I probably have 4-5 shopping carts online full of things I am liking, and I drop hints to husband pretty much everyday about something I have been eyeing (yet, he still has a hard time picking up on them!). And if he needs even more direction for gifts he can always check my blog or Pinterest page and find some inspiration for gift giving.

That being said, I think I came up with some pretty good Father's day gift ideas. It took a while, but I have a feeling that any of the above would top the pair of socks or tie that you were already planning on wrapping up for him. It is almost the weekend, and you have until June 19th to get it together... buy a nice gift, write a sweet card, and take him to dinner!

Gift guide : Celebrating mom.

Mother's day is just around the corner (along with my birthday... ahem...)! So it is time to start planning before it is too late and the best thing you can think of is a candle from the card shop on your way to your mom's house. I have compiled some things I know most moms would love and appreciate... along with a mushy card and a back massage that is! I hope this helps you out, now go ahead and get something today, May 8 will be here before you know it!

Shel's Gift Guide.

Okay, so this took a long while for me to compile some of my favorite things into one little gift guide... but, here it is. I know it is not too late either, because, lets be honest, your special someone is probably rushing right now to figure out what to put under the tree for you. Hint, hint guys, I am sure your lady will love any of the things below (I hope you do!). Enjoy!

AND I even went through some of my favorite daily reads to gather their gift guides just for you. All lovely things any girl would enjoy opening up on Christmas morning!

Kate Spade Stocking Stuffers

Every morning, especially around this time of year, I wake up to a laundry list of enticing emails from my favorite stores wanting me to Buy! Buy! Buy! Of course, I usually delete them. But, around the holidays, I take extra time in the morning to go through them all and check out the deals that each store has come up with and the new fun products. Kate Spade this morning was especially great, they sent a link to their presents under $75 (and men, it is free shipping AND they will wrap!). Also, they are all small enough to fit into the stocking :) Husband and I made a pact to only get stocking stuffers this year for each other and I appreciate Kate for making it all so easy on him! Go here to see the complete list.

Pretty things.

I have just discovered this jewelry website. I was first drawn to go to it when I saw these colorful studded earrings on another blog and thought that they were perfect for any outfit. I want every color in every size!

Well this website is like stepping into an antique shop looking for unique jewelry and they have it all right there for you to choose from. Did I ever tell you that when Stone and I were dating he bought me a locket from an antique store here in Boulder. What made it even sweeter was that on the inside of the locket were two photos, one of a man and one of a woman (looks like they were taken 100 years ago) with a small 4 leaf clover inside.

Well this jewelry may not have quite the story of an authentic antique, but it does have the vintage look. They even have a section on the website for wedding bands, they are all so different and pretty!

Now lets all cross our fingers that Target comes out with some colorful studs in all sizes so we can enjoy them without breaking the bank!
