Carter&Cook Fall wreath.

As soon as we move into our new place I am going to make a wreath for our front door. I guess that is my way of making it feel like home and seeing what was just a random space above a garage as ours. Our friends at Carter&Cook just posted a step-by-step 'how to' on making a Fall wreath and it turned out beautifully.

Check it out here.

Ikea's beautiful and creative new baking book.

I just read about this new baking book by Ikea and thought the photos were styled so perfectly. Food photography is hard and they were spot on! It is a bit of a guessing game to figure out what recipe each photo is depicting so I wrote each one out below the photo. I would love to add this cookbook to my collection... anyone headed to Sweden anytime soon?

Here is what New York Mag had to say about it:

Everyone's favorite homewares purveyor Ikea has just published a collection of baking recipes called Hembakat är Bäst (Homemade Is Best). Sure, knowing how to make Princess Cake is fine and dandy, but the volume is illustrated with some of the most inventive cookbook photography we've ever seen: Styled by Evelina Bratell and photographed by Carl Kleiner, the pristine arrangements of ingredients are so stark and geometric that they verge on the abstract. The good news is that the book is completely free; the bad news is that the only place you can get it is in the kitchen section of Ikea stores — in Sweden.

Mandelmussla, almond shortbread topped with lingonberries.

Vaniljhorn, crescent-shaped shortbread cookies.

Lingonpeparkaka, gingersnap cookies with lingonberries.

Prinsesstårta, or Princess Cake, sponge cake with a green marzipan covering.

Dark Side of the Lens

I saw this video quite a while ago, when my husband showed it to me... now I hear it playing from our computer almost every day because it combines two things that Stone loves to do, which is take photos and be in the water. It is a beautiful video, even if you are not into those two things, the man is passionate about what he does, which is kind of rare these days. Anyway, if you get a moment you should watch it.

Billy Knox ties.

I have been meaning to write about this for a while now... but a bit ago we received a package in the mail containing the much anticipated tie made by our friend Billy Knox. It is awesome to say the least. He made it for Stone (and it looks really REALLY great on him, I love it when he wears ties!) and coined it 'The Crandall'. Not only did the tie come in a box full of wood chips and lavender, but it had Billy's initials sewn in it. I have said it before and I will say it again... the guy should make a business out of these.

If you would like one for you or your significant other I am sure arrangements can be made if you contact him through his blog here! And I would contact him if I were you :)

Photos taken by my husband.

Shark cardigan.

Hmmm... perhaps I should consider getting this shark cardigan for our move out to California... maybe if I wear my fear, the sharks will just think I am one of them and wont seem so freakin' scary :) Wish it came in a wetsuit.

Pick me, pick me!

Herman Miller is doing two months of giveaways to lucky winners who put their name in a drawing each week for various prizes. The top prize is what I am most excited about though. They commissioned five artists to put their own twist on the classic Eames rocker. My favorite design is the colorful turkey by Andrew Holder (the one on the far left). Anyway, I know my chance to win is quite slim, so I went on a search for knock-offs and found these at a fraction of the price! But, if you are into the real thing (which, I am sure we all would like to be) you can go here to buy the actual Eames rocker or enter your name in the drawing to win one of these above here.

Tuesday tunes.

Stone found this photo of his parents from their second date... it is so perfect. We told them that if they wore those exact outfits now they would be very in fashion :)

Also, I love this song, Stone and I used it in our wedding slideshow and I think it is pretty fun!

Sneak Peek: Sarah & Jason Married!

See more of the happy couple here.

Weekend wrap up.

Saturday was a beautiful day here... it was actually Fall outside and I wore my boots for the first time this year! We had an amazing shoot at an organic farmer's market outside of Boulder, this place was really neat, you could go and pick your own flowers, pumpkins and herbs and they also had a huge market with tons of seasonal veggies and fruits. This was a 5-year anniversary shoot for a couple from New York that were really unhappy with their wedding photos. We had a great time shooting with them because they were so low key and willing to try whatever! Then we went to dinner with our friends Keiren and Jenny, they have also thought that they may move out to California (which would be SO fun), but I think by the end of the night I may of persuaded them to try out Austin! Oooops.

Sunday was really strange for us because both of our shoots for that day had to be re-scheduled! This was very last minute, and a little frustrating as we have had to turn down other shoots recently. However, it made for a nice and relaxing day for Stone and I. We got yogurt, went grocery shopping at Sunflower (have you been there? they have amazing deals on produce and meat!) and then we rented Letters to Juliet. It was exactly what I expected... a little cheesy, but sweet with a happy ending :)

Happy Monday!

Have a yummy weekend!

Stone and I have not 1, not 2, but THREE photoshoots this weekend! It is absolute nuts, but we are so thankful for and excited about each one of them :) We also are having dinner at our all time favorite pizza place tomorrow night with a couple of our friends and cannot wait. This will probably be the last time we eat there before our move, but I am sure we will quickly find a new favorite pizza spot! Tonight we vegged out... we had burgers and watched Couple's Retreat, it was perfect. I worked all day today and I was thinking on my commute home how funny it is that my biggest concern on the road is a deer jumping in front of the car... for a girl that grew up in Dallas that is a big change!

Enjoy your days off. xo.

A yummy fall treat! I cannot wait to make it.

This website has some fun sussies including polka dot tape!

I could not believe my eyes when I came across this article. Eeeekkk.

One of the best 'before' and 'after' remodel I have seen.

I am loving hot pink right now, so girly and vibrant!

A dinner party beneath the Golden Gate Bridge.

Cute straws :)

Fall clutches.

Loving these Emerson Made leather clutches! They are perfect for Fall and she has added some great fabric to some that pretty much will go with anything.

Go here to buy!

October's Playlist.

I guess the saying goes 'you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl'. Even though I grew up with posters of Garth Brooks and Shania Twain hanging on my walls, it was not until I married Stone that I really started listening to country. I love it... and with my long commutes these days country radio is just about all I listen to. Anyway, I think this good wholesome (sometimes) music is perfect to listen to on a brisk fall day. Enjoy!
